Klay Thompson, Kyrie Irving to miss respective season-opener


The 75 th Anniversary Season of the NBA officially starts today!
The Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers will battle the first game of the
season along with the Brooklyn Nets facing off the defending champions Milwaukee
However, several faces will not be seen in the opener as they continue to recover from
injuries and other from being not eligible to play.
Klay Thompson who also sat out the entire 2020-21 season will continue to be sidelined
with his Achilles injury. But he is expected to return this season as he was already
practicing with the team during the offseason.
On the other hand, the Nets will miss the service from one their superstars Kyrie Irving
as he is not eligible to play due to being unvaccinated. Irving up to this writing remains
firm on not getting his COVID-19 vaccine. This will cost him to be out during all
Brooklyn’s home game this season.
Here are the other players who will not see action today:
Warriors James Wiseman out and Jonathan Kuminga both out with knee injuries while
Trevor Ariza, Wayne Ellington, Talen Horton-Tucker, Malik Monk and Kendrick Nunn
will not suit up for the Lakers.
Milwaukee will be missing several role players as well namely, Bobby Portis, Rodney
Hood, Semi Ojeleye and Donte DiVicenzo.
