Despite the last-minute call up against the living legend Manny Pacquiao, Yordenis
Ugas is firmly believing that the Filipino icon doesn’t have the knockout power anymore
and he can withstand the punches that will be unleash on Sunday morning.
“I’m 100 per cent certain he cannot knock me out,” the 35-year old Cuban said via his
translator.
“I’ve done all the work and preparation over the past six years. I’ve really been hitting
my stride. I don’t think Manny Pacquiao can knock me out.”
On that note Pacquiao is not also predicting of whether there will be a knockout but he
is certain he will be the one who will walk out with the belt.
He previously said that it doesn’t matter who came in with it, but it’s about who is
leaving with the belt.
The WBA super welterweight title that Ugas is currently holding was the belt that
Pacquiao had after defeating Keith Thurman before the boxing body ordered to take it
away after he didn’t see action for a long time due to the pandemic and his political
duties in the Philippines.
