While fighting Errol Spence definitely means a lot for Manny Pacquiao and his legacy,
he found a new motivation heading in to Saturday night [Sunday morning PH time]
against the replacement Yordenis Ugas.
The eight-division world champion will be fighting for the WBA welterweight belt, the
same belt he won against Keith Thurman in 2019 that was taken away from him last
year due to inactivity inside the ring.
“I just need to prove it that it’s not good for someone to take the belt with fighting me,”
he said during their quick interview outside the T-Mobile Arena.
Pacquiao also assured that the fight will be good one despite facing the not-so-popular
“I think this is a kind of a challenge and a fight. Both of us are well-prepared for this fight
so it’s gonna be a good fight.”
“I would like to invite the fans all around the world, especially the Filipino people to
watch this fight. This is gonna be a good fight with more action on the ring. Saturday
night, I’ll see you there.”
