The Gypsy King Tyson Fury will no longer see action this 2020 after his last February fight.
The current WBC heavyweight champion announced on Twitter that he would be back in the ring in 2021.
“The Gypsy King is returning in 2021,” he tweeted.
Midway of the year, Fury said that he would fight again on December 5 with an unnamed opponent.
Deontay Wilder, the former WBC titleholder, was supposed to be his opponent to complete their trilogy; however, the pandemic halted the plan.
“Only those that have supported me 100% since my comeback will be with me for the glory,” he added.
There were no further reasons why he postponed the December fight.
Meanwhile, Wilder will create a more significant opportunity to lure Fury for their trilogy after his rematch contract clause expired.
Wilder has been silent for most of the year after his first professional defeat, but he remained motivated to fight Fury for the third time to settle their rivalry.
Furthermore, it will be a challenge to deal with Fury after Wilder, and his camp claimed that the unbeaten British cheated he knocked out Wilder in the seventh round.
Their mega fight, and it is one of the reasons for the heavyweight popularity once again.
